About Your Speech Therapist
Kyla is a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Founder of Sparks of Speech DFW. She is originally from Munford, Tennessee but has lived in the DFW area for 4 years. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Middle Tennessee State University located in Murfreesboro, TN. Afterwards, she obtained a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Finding Passion and Purpose
During undergraduate studies, Kyla gained a passion for learning and development within the pediatric population. Her dedication to helping children grow began with employment as a Site Assistant with the YMCA Fun Company and continued throughout graduate studies as an assistant teacher for Elegant Child Early Learning Center. With these experiences she led children ranging from 2 to 18 years old. Furthermore, these opportunities shaped Kyla into the family centered, patient driven, and pediatric advocate that she is today.
Clinical Experience
Her clinical background includes treatment across age ranges in schools, skilled nursing facilities, in-patient, and outpatient treatment facilities. Kyla currently specializes in articulation, motor speech, and additional speech-sound disorders impacting the child's ability to effectively and clearly communicate with others. She also provides quality language and feeding therapy tailored to the needs of each child.
Fun Facts
Kyla spends majority of her free time with her aussiedoodle, Kashew. She also loves exploring new restaurants, attending sporting events, participating in competitive activities, and spending time with her family. Kyla is a huge advocate for self-care and pouring into your cup so that you can pour into others’.
