How do I know if my child needs speech or feeding therapy?

We also offer free 15-minute consultations via phone call or virtual appointment to caregivers who may be unsure. Please complete the Contact Form, and our administrator will follow up with you within 48 business hours to schedule the consultation.
Do I need a referral for my child to receive therapy?
Referrals are not required to begin speech or feeding therapy.
Do you accept insurance?
Sparks of Speech DFW is currently out-of-network with all insurance companies. We do accept a variety of payment methods, including credit, debit, HSA, and FSA.
It is recommended that all families verify their health benefits prior to beginning treatment to determine eligibility for reimbursement. We will provide a super bill for you to submit to your insurer, upon request.
What is the Sparks Speedy Speech summer program?
Sparks of Speech DFW offers 30-minute sessions specifically for children with articulation deficits. It is designed to be more fast-paced, individualized, and includes use of evidence-based approaches for targeting speech sounds. If your child has an IEP or school recommendation for articulation, he or she may benefit from a summer boost in our Sparks Speedy Speech program.

Treatment recommendations (including frequency, length of treatment, etc.) are provided after the initial evaluation.
Are sessions completed virtually or in-person?
We offer in-person sessions at our local clinic and virtual sessions via secure video platform providing flexibility and convenience for our patients and families.
When can we start therapy?
Therapy will begin after the contact form is received and an individualized evaluation is completed. Please see Getting Started for steps to begin treatment. Our administrator will be happy to assist you!
My child is out of school for the summer, do you have openings for speech therapy?
We understand summer break uncertainty. Sparks of Speech DFW welcomes all school-age children who may benefit from continued speech, language, or feeding support while on summer break!
